Frequently Asked Questions
How does therapy work?
One or more initial consultations (probationary sessions) help clarify whether a psychodynamic treatment is a good fit. If we continue, sessions typically take place once or twice per week, 50 minutes each. We work on current difficulties as well as the emotional and relational background.
How long does therapy take?
This varies from person to person. Short-term therapy comprises about 24 sessions; long-term psychotherapy can extend to 100 sessions or more. We review progress regularly and adjust the process as needed.
Is therapy covered by health insurance?
I currently work with privately insured clients and self-pay clients. Billing via statutory health insurance is not available at the moment. If you have private or supplementary insurance, please check with your provider whether psychotherapy is reimbursed.
What does therapy cost?
For self-paying patients, the fee is €125 per 50-minute session, based on the German Fee Schedule for Psychotherapists (GOP). Invoices are issued monthly and may be submitted to private or supplementary health insurance providers where applicable.
Do you also offer online therapy?
Yes. Psychotherapy sessions can also take place online by arrangement. This can be particularly helpful if regular travel to Freiburg is difficult or does not fit easily into everyday life. Whether online therapy is suitable and therapeutically appropriate in a particular case can be discussed together during the initial consultation.
